The “Oprav dům po babičce” (Renovate Grandma’s House) grant program supports energy-efficient renovations of family houses, reduces energy consumption, and improves the quality and affordability of housing in the Czech Republic.
The program offers up to CZK 1,000,000 for insulation, heating system upgrades, solar energy, and other energy-saving measures. It is designed for homeowners who want to modernize their property, cut energy costs, and increase long-term value.
The program is open to owners of family houses or recreational properties used for permanent living who are economically active, including employees, entrepreneurs, self-employed persons, working retirees, students, and parents on maternity leave. Applicants must apply as private individuals (non-business).
Covers 50 % of eligible expenses
Up to CZK 1,000,000 for complete insulation
Additional funding for complementary energy-saving measures
Family bonus: CZK 50,000 per dependent child
Regional bonus: +10 % for applicants in Karlovy Vary, Moravian-Silesian, and Ústí nad Labem regions or in state-supported municipalities
Combination bonus: CZK 10,000 for each additional energy-saving measure applied together with insulation
Insulation of walls, roofs, ceilings, floors, windows, doors, and shading systems
Heating systems: Replacement of old boilers with biomass systems or heat pumps
Photovoltaic systems: Home solar power plants connected to the grid
Hot water systems: Solar or heat pump water heating
Ventilation with heat recovery
Wastewater heat recovery systems
Green roofs
Rainwater harvesting systems (Dešťovka)
E-mobility: EV charging stations
